“Please, do not be alarmed. You may not be able to see me, but please do know that you’re not just hearing things.” He said, trying to be as reassuring as he could, though a hint of nervousness escapes his tone nonetheless. Should I touch his shoulder or something to let him know I’m here? Maybe not…he looks like a rather…reclusive? kind of guy…

What a joke, that’s impossible.. or is it? Could those tales her friends tell be true? She tried to shake those preposterous thoughts out of her head. “This isn’t funny, show yourself,” she demanded. Loosening her clutch on the book and regaining a more relaxed posture, she continued to search but still resulting in no one. There’s no way this could possibly be happening..
“I really wish I could, sir, but I am unable to. I do not have a physical form like I used to.” He said as calmly as possible, feeling slightly intimidated by the young man’s stern demeanor. “Really, I am here! Right behind you!”
He felt like there was no convincing him with words, so he reached out and placed a hand on the young man’s shoulder. However, right after his hand touched, he suddenly felt a wave of regret. Just like the same wave he feels whenever he had to put his hand on someone’s shoulder to prove to them he’s there. “As you can see, sir, I am very much tangible.”

The sudden touch startled her and she quickly stepped away. “What are you..?” she asked, her voice cracking with fear. All her normal logical thinking based on proof and facts flew from her mind as her hand quickly flew to her side, resting her hand on her concealed gun. If it really was a spirit what good would it do anyway.
Hearing the fear in the man’s voice and the almost-instinct action of reaching towards his side made him recoil slightly. What was he hiding in his side? Was it a weapon? He couldn’t think of another reason for this young man to react in such a way, and the thought frightened him. Even though he was invisible, he was still quite real and could be hurt.
“Please, calm down, young man! Do not panic, I’m simply not visible. I am as human as you are, and I really need your help. Please do not be alarmed.” He said, with as much calmness and courage as he could muster. He didn’t want to provoke the young man anymore than he had to.

“The…rope? A-Ah…” He had completed forgot about that. He had to admit, he didn’t visit the librarian as often as he should anymore. The last time he talked with him, he seemed rather down… “I haven’t seen Ellen at all…Do you need me to take away the rope? I remember the last time I saw him, he was kinda depressed…”
“The sooner the better. Please.” The cat replied. “I don’t need you all throwing your lives away like that. It’s not like this is forever..” He looked up to where he guessed this person was. “You don’t get any ideas either, with that. You’re invisible, but alive. Soon my time in this house will be over.” ..Except, he was sure the house would probably become a cursed, closed space. Nobody would ever get out. But, a demon wouldn’t share that, might bring trouble.
“Your time in this house…what do you mean?” He had never imagined such a restriction before, especially coming from a demon. What could possibly restrain a demon? Weren’t they omnipotent and could do nearly everything? At least that’s the notion he got when he became invisible. A powerful wave of fear that had dominated his thoughts must have gave him such an idea. “And do not worry, I don’t plan on dying anytime soon. As long as I breathe, I have hope.”

I have never felt so turned-on before…why does it feel so good when I touch myself there?
He involuntarily dropped the book, and slowly turned to Mary. N-No, I mustn’t! At least not now…Do I really want this? Her body is not as ripe as I would like it to be, but it would have to do for now…I-I really shouldn’t, though!
He slowly walked over to Mary and put his arms around her waist, whispering in her ear, “Mary…”
“…?”

“Eh… Mister?” What was he doing? She looked up to him, or where she thought he seemed to be, with confusion evident on her face. “Mister, what is it? Is there something wrong?” Mary, of course, was clueless as to what was going on with him.
“M-Mary…” He felt his hands slowly feeling down Mary from her waist. I really shouldn’t do this…but I can’t help myself!
He felt his hands creep between Mary’s thighs, almost to her crotch. “Please…Mary…” He began, his voice trembling, “Please stop me from doing this…”

“M…Mister…? Uhm, hey, what are you doing? What do you mean? Um, please stop…” Mary was confused, and this was weird. “Mister…” What was going on? Seriously? Did that book do something to him? She had no idea. “Um…”
“I-I…!” He quickly removed his hands. What was I thinking!? I need to restrain myself more! How can I simply…? Dammit! I need to try to clear my mind of that book!
“I-I’m sorry, Mary!” He released her and took a step backwards. “I-…Sh-Shall we continue looking for the exit?”

“Eh…?” Mary wasn’t really sure what to say. “Eh… R-Right, exit, right…”
She nodded, trying to ignore what just happened. “Uhm…?” She was confused, and it didn’t seem like he would explain anything to her. “W-Well, let’s go I guess then…?”
“Y-Yes! L-Let’s get out of he—” Before he could finish, the lights suddenly go out, leaving them in total darkness. “A-Ahh!? Wh-What happened to the lights!? M-Mary? Are you there? Where are you?”
He wasn’t prepared for the darkness, so he had no idea where Mary was. He outstretched his arms and stumbled around, trying to locate her.

“Ah…!” Well, that was unexpected. The lights just… “M-Mister? I-I’m right he—” She had stepped forward, but ended up tripping over a mannequin head and falling onto the floor. “O-Ow…”
“M-Mary!? A-Are you alright?” He heard a thump followed by her cry. What was going on? Was there something else in the room with them? He hadn’t payed attention when the lights were still on. Did he want to take a step forward? Was his foot going to hit something? Well, like he always does it, action first, regret later! He took a step forward.
And he tripped over Mary’s behind.

A lone figure sat by the Samegawa flood plain. It was Naoto, lost in one of her detective novels, her hand gracefully tracing the lines of text. Although normally inexpressive, her passion for these stories was apparent. Occasionally she’d stop and look around inconspicuously for any other people in the area. After quick inspection of her surroundings she’d return to the book and the process repeated. Perhaps she was expecting someone?
He approached the young man sitting by the waters. Did he want to talk to him? Would he be alarmed? Even though he had been freed from the house, it seemed like he still hasn’t regained his physical form yet, and being somewhere so different from the world he knew that told stories of witches and magic certainly did not help his situation.
But he certainly needed help. He had almost been hit by one of those strange boxes with wheels moments ago, and he didn’t want to risk getting hurt because of ignorance. Maybe asking was a good idea. He had to prepare himself for the consequences, though. No one liked the idea of talking beings they couldn’t see.
Standing behind the young man, he cleared his throat and asked, “Excuse me, sir, but can you help me?”

A… A voice? She thought for sure that there was no one around. Quickly getting to her feet, she scanned the area. As she had suspected there was no one in sight. Naoto tightly gripped the book, holding it against her chest for some sense of protection. Now searching the area she asked, trying to sound assertive “Who’s there?”
“Please, do not be alarmed. You may not be able to see me, but please do know that you’re not just hearing things.” He said, trying to be as reassuring as he could, though a hint of nervousness escapes his tone nonetheless. He looked around cautiously. He wasn’t sure how he got to this place, but he absolutely hated it. There was nothing but the desert and some weird, wriggling plants, and an occasional box with a face on it for as far as his eyes could see. He’s been wandering around for a while, and his throat was feeling dry. He wasn’t sure for how long he could keep on wandering.
He had found a wriggling towel that moves on its own a while ago, but that didn’t do much for him. Sure, he got a towel to cover himself up with, but what good did that do? No good. Just when he felt like giving up and just withering away in the heat, he notices someone off in the distance.
Could it be? Could someone really be here in this stifling heat as well? Or was he simply seeing things? He wasn’t quite sure whether or not it was an illusion or an actual person, but it was worth checking out. After all, nothing will come out of simply sitting around.
Keeping his towel wrapped around him tightly, he walked towards the figure. It appeared to be a young girl with braids. What was a young girl doing in a place like this?
He slowly approached her and asked, “Hello there. Could you help me?”

“Th-That’s wonderful! I will stay with you then, mister Cat.” Thank goodness! Now, maybe if I acted like a clever servant, maybe I could impress him…! “The others? They’re…well, they’re around, I suppose. I-I don’t go out of my path often enough to really know what they’re up to.” Actually I go out of my path all the time to peep. “I DO know that, though, the invisible pianoman and my chair friends are all doing pretty well.”
“Please say you’ve kept rope away from the librarian, I gotta say I’m afraid what they would do with it.” Probably was way out of the current invisible person’s path but he didn’t care much. “Oh, and by the way, have you seen Ellen at all? I know she left the house awhile back, but with so many strange people walking in lately I can’t help but wonder if she’s aware. This is her house after all and she’s not here as far as I know.”

“W-Well, in that case, mister Cat, I think I’ll stick around with you for a bit then. That way, you can have me start working and stop working at any time! Isn’t that convenient?”
“Yeah sure, stay if you want. Not a big deal to me.” The black feline yawned. “How are the others doing around here? You’re the first I’ve actually..well, sort of seen around the house lately. You all keep your presence hidden well.” Not that it really mattered. No one really lived past the chef. Always falling for the instruction to lend him a hand.
